Cherry Blossom Wedding Cake

This three tiered wedding cake was iced during yet another rainy day!  Despite this I was really happy with the end results. Inside this one is chocolate mud cake on the top and bottom and butter cake in the middle.

The blossoms were soft pink fondant and the centres were dusted with rose petal dust with mini white pearl centres, the branches are made from chocolate fondant.  White satin ribbon trims the base of each cake.
If you decorate cakes aswell and have trouble with humidity try using a reading lamp over your work space while your making your sugar flowers I find it helps make things less sticky!

This one was delivered to Stacey's at the Gap on  an overcast Saturday afternoon, I hope the rain held off for the ceremony...they do say it is good luck if it rains on your wedding day! I just can't work out who for??

The couple had two oriental cake toppers which they bought back from a trip to China, these were placed on the top tier but of course I didn't take my camera so I have no photos for you... but they looked really good and finished off the cake perfectly.

Congratulations Brett and Caitlin.

  1. Gina these cakes are absolutely incredible and by far the best I have ever seen! You will certainly be the 'go to' girl for a cake when the need arises - and I will send out your blogspot link to everyone I know right now including a special friend in Twmba who is a Wedding Planner ...... Again - just incredible!
